We love answering all of your skincare queries. Perhaps one of the most frequently-asked questions we get is: "How do I get glowing skin?" This is a great question and one we love to answer, because this guide was created to help you do just that!

If you've purchased one of our ebooks or shopped our favorite products, chances are good that you're already well on your way to a good glow. But just in case you're wanting to really dig into the specifics, we've created some quick comprehensive guidelines, just for you. Read on to learn about the foundational elements of creating glow and supporting your skin.

1.) Vitamin C If we had to pick just one super ingredient for creating skin that glows, vitamin C would be it. The benefits of topical vitamin C are numerous. In addition to healing and repairing damaged skin, vitamin C helps prevent sun damage and dark spots. It also improves overall tone and texture.

Additionally, because it boosts the skin's immunity as well as collagen and elastin production, vitamin C is a great defense against acne and aging. Vitamin C products should be used once per day, every day in the AM, for best results.

2.) Hyaluronic Hydration Hydration is critical to skin health but many people are underdoing it when it comes to keeping the skin hydrated. If you live in a dry climate or are starting to show early signs of aging, chances are good that you need more hydration beyond what's in your daily moisturizer. Enter: hyaluronic acid.

Hyaluronic acid is a moisture-binding ingredient that holds 1000x its own weight in water. It helps not only lock in hydration but can also plump the skin, giving it a more dewy and radiant appearance. A good goal would be to add one hyaluronic product to your routine such as a hydrating serum or toner and incorporate it at least once per day.

3.) Exfoliation We all know that exfoliating the skin is important for getting rid of dirt and pore-clogging debris. But did you know that dry and dead skin can also accumulate, leaving your skin looking dull? Exfoliation is a quick and easy way to keep the skin looking bright and fresh

So how often should we be exfoliating and what should we be using? For glowing skin, we recommend using an exfoliation treatment 1-2 times per week only. Any more than that and you may be over-exfoliating or irritating the skin. We prefer enzyme masks or chemical exfoliation using alpha-hydroxy acids. These products tend to work more universally for all skin types and are less likely to scratch or damage skin.

4.) Retinol A good retinol product or retinol alternative (like vitamin A) is a must to support glowing skin at night. As we age, our skin's natural cycle for turning over and producing new healthy skin cells slows down. This means that it can take longer for the skin to heal and regenerate. What retinol and vitamin A products do is help accelerate the turnover process along to keep the skin performing at a more youthful pace.

If you are new to using retinol or vitamin A, we recommend starting at a low dose and using the product a few times per week at night. If your skin tolerates the product without becoming irritated, you can increase usage. Also be sure to wear SPF in the daytime as retinol products can make the skin more sun sensitive.

5.) Facial Oil We are huge fans of facial oils and believe them to be a glowing skin game changer. Whether you opt for a pure facial oil like squalane or a blend of several oils, all skin types can benefit from adding in a bit of oil for extra skin nutrition. Facial oils help balance out the skin's natural oil production and leave the skin super soft and smooth.

If you fear adding oil to your routine, try boosting your moisturizer with just a few drops and increasing as you feel more comfortable. Drier skin types can benefit from adding a good layer of oil on top of moisturizer at bedtime. The oil will absorb overnight, leaving your skin nourished and glowing the next morning.
